Guard your camera against the elements...

Lake Walton B&WRain & snow make awesome pictures. There's no arguing that. But do you REALLY want to risk that PRICY investment (translate "camera, lens, ELECTRONICS!") getting damaged by a little precipitation? I assure you, there could be nothing more damaging to your gear & ultimately your pocket than a little water in your camera.

I had this very concern today, as the snow was coming down and came up with an idea to make it work.

Snow Proof your CameraSo I offer up this little trick that is by no means bulletproof, but may just help on those light rain days & beautiful snow days, and will cost you NOTHING.

I took a blockbuster bag and cut a hole in it, just large enough for the end of the lens to poke out, but not exposing the full lens. This worked great because I could use the open end of the bag to look through the viewfinder and see my LCD screen once I took the picture.

The only problem I had was that sometimes the plastic bag would slip over the lens, but that was easily fixed by minor adjustments.
